PRIVACY POLICY

The short version: Offline was designed so that your Screen Time data never leaves your device. We do not receive your selected apps, usage history, or Screen Time activity. Only limited account and tournament information is sent to our backend if you choose to participate in multiplayer tournaments. We do not sell your data, and we do not use advertising trackers.

Offline is published by XMACHINA LLC, a limited liability company based in Los Angeles, California, United States. By using Offline, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

SCREEN TIME & FAMILY CONTROLS DATA — STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE
Offline uses Apple's Family Controls and Screen Time APIs, with your explicit on-device permission, to measure how long you stay away from apps you select.
• You choose which apps to monitor. iOS represents your selection as opaque tokens. Offline cannot read the names of those apps, your broader app usage, your browsing activity, or the content you access.
• Offline receives only minimal usage-threshold events from Apple's Screen Time framework for the apps you selected. These events allow the app to measure offline time and update your timer.
• Your raw Screen Time data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to XMACHINA LLC or any third party. We never receive which apps you selected, your usage totals, or your Screen Time activity history.
• We use the individual authorization scope solely for personal wellbeing purposes. Offline is not a parental-control, monitoring, or surveillance tool and never transmits another person's data.
The only information derived from your Screen Time activity that can leave your device is your resulting daily offline score (for example, your longest offline run that day, represented as a number), and only if you voluntarily participate in tournaments as described below.

DATA WE NEVER COLLECT

Offline does not collect:
• The names of the apps you choose to monitor
• Your Screen Time activity history
• Your browsing activity
• The content of messages, emails, photos, videos, or files
• Keystrokes or device content
• Your location data
• The content viewed inside any app you use

TOURNAMENTS & ACCOUNT DATA — SENT TO OUR BACKEND

Tournaments are an optional feature that allows you to compete with other people. If you participate, the following information is sent to and stored on our backend:
• Account identity — created using Sign in with Apple. This provides us with an Apple-generated user identifier and, only if you choose to share them, your name and private relay email address. We never receive your Apple ID password or credentials.
• Profile information — your display name and, if you choose to provide one, a profile photo or avatar.
• Tournament participation — the tournaments you create or join and any invitation information you enter.
• Daily tournament results — your offline score and ranking within tournaments. This score is calculated on your device. We do not receive the underlying Screen Time data used to calculate it.
This information is hosted and processed by Supabase, Inc., our backend service provider, solely for the purpose of operating account and tournament functionality on our behalf.

WHAT OTHER PEOPLE CAN SEE

Tournaments are social by design. Participants in a tournament you join may be able to see:
• Your display name
• Your profile photo or avatar
• Your offline score
• Your ranking within the tournament
Do not use a display name or profile photo that you do not want other tournament participants to see.WHERE YOUR INFORMATION IS STOREDDifferent information is stored in different places by design.
On your device
• Your selected apps
• Your live timer
• Your daily goals
• Your streak history
This information remains on your device and serves as the primary source of truth for your personal Offline experience.
To support widgets, your timer and streak information are shared locally through Apple's App Group container on your device.
In your personal iCloud account
To preserve your streak history when reinstalling the app or moving to a new device, a copy is stored in your private iCloud database using Apple CloudKit.
This data is stored within your personal iCloud account. XMACHINA LLC does not have access to, cannot view, and cannot retrieve this CloudKit data. Only you and Apple have access to it.
Selected-app tokens remain device-specific and must be reselected when setting up a new device.
On our backend
Only the information necessary to operate tournaments and user accounts is stored on our backend, and only if you choose to participate in those features.
Your raw Screen Time data, selected apps, usage history, and personal streak history are never stored on our backend

SECURITY

Data transmitted between the app and our backend is encrypted in transit using industry-standard HTTPS/TLS encryption.
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect the information we process.

ADVERTISING & ANALYTICS

Offline does not include third-party advertising SDKs.
Offline does not include third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information for advertising purposes, and we do not track you across other apps, websites, or services.

DATA RETENTION

We retain account and tournament data for as long as your account remains active.
If you delete your account, we will permanently delete or anonymize the personal data associated with it from our backend within 30 days, except where retention is required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

YOUR CHOICES & CONTROL

• You may grant or revoke Screen Time authorization at any time through iOS Settings.
• You may change or remove monitored apps within Offline at any time.
• You may use Offline's core timer functionality without creating an account. An account is only required for tournament participation.
• You may delete your account within the app, which removes your personal data from our backend as described above.
• Deleting the app removes data stored locally on your device. Data stored in your personal iCloud account may remain until removed through Apple's iCloud services.

INTERNATIONAL USERS

Our backend systems and service providers may process data in the United States and other countries where they operate.
By using account and tournament features, you understand that your information may be processed outside your country of residence.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Offline is intended for personal wellbeing use and is not directed to children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that such information has been collected, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

If we change how Offline handles data, we will update this Privacy Policy and revise the "Last updated" date above.
Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.

ELIGIBILITY

Offline is intended for individuals who are at least 13 years old.

LICENSE TO USE OFFLINE

WHAT OFFLINE DOES

Offline is a digital wellbeing application that uses Apple's Family Controls and Screen Time frameworks, with your permission, to measure time spent away from apps you choose.
Offline does not block, hide, restrict, or control access to apps. It provides measurement, feedback, motivation, streak tracking, and optional social tournament features.
Offline is intended as a self-improvement tool and should not be relied upon as a monitoring, parental-control, or enforcement system.

ACCOUNTS

Most core Offline functionality can be used without creating an account.
Participation in tournaments requires an account created through Sign in with Apple.
You are responsible for:
• Maintaining access to your account;
• Activities occurring through your account; and
• Ensuring the information you provide is accurate and lawful.
You agree not to impersonate any person or entity or use a display name, profile image, or other content that is misleading, offensive, unlawful, or infringes another person's rights.

ACCEPTABLE USE

When using Offline, you agree not to:
• Violate any law or regulation;
• Harass, abuse, threaten, or intimidate other users;
• Upload or display unlawful, offensive, hateful, discriminatory, or infringing content;
• Manipulate, falsify, automate, exploit, or otherwise interfere with offline results, streaks, tournament standings, or rankings;
• Attempt unauthorized access to Offline systems, user accounts, or data;
• Interfere with the operation, security, or integrity of Offline; or
• Use bots, scripts, automation, or other means to gain an unfair advantage.

TOURNAMENTS

Tournaments are provided solely for entertainment, motivation, and social engagement.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise:
• Tournaments do not award cash, prizes, or financial compensation;
• Rankings and standings are informational only;
• XMACHINA LLC may correct, adjust, reset, suspend, or remove tournament results where we reasonably believe inaccuracies, abuse, technical issues, or violations of these Terms have occurred;
• Participation may be suspended or revoked at our discretion to protect the integrity of the service.
Tournament results depend in part on Apple's Screen Time systems, which may be delayed, approximate, or unavailable. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of tournament results.

USER CONTENT

You retain ownership of any content you submit to Offline, including display names, avatars, profile photos, and tournament-related information.
You grant XMACHINA LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, reproduce, and display such content solely for the purpose of operating, maintaining, and improving Offline.
You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to submit such content.

WELLBEING DISCLAIMER

Offline is a wellbeing, productivity, and self-improvement tool.
Offline is not:
• A medical device;
• A healthcare service;
• A mental-health service;
• A diagnostic tool; or
• A substitute for professional medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice.
Always seek advice from qualified professionals regarding health-related concerns.

PRIVACY

Your use of Offline is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, process, store, and protect information.
By using Offline, you acknowledge that you have reviewed the Privacy Policy.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Offline and all related software, designs, graphics, trademarks, logos, content, and intellectual property are owned by XMACHINA LLC or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Except for the limited license granted in these Terms, no rights are transferred to you.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Offline relies on third-party services and infrastructure, including but not limited to Apple, CloudKit, Sign in with Apple, Family Controls, Screen Time APIs, and Supabase.
Your use of those services may be subject to separate third-party terms and privacy policies.
XMACHINA LLC is not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or their conduct.

APPLE NOTICE

These Terms are concluded solely between you and XMACHINA LLC and not with Apple Inc.
Apple is not responsible for:
• Offline;
• The content of Offline;
• Maintenance or support services;
• Product liability claims;
• Regulatory compliance claims;
• Consumer protection claims; or
• Intellectual-property claims related to Offline.
If Offline fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any, paid for the application.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no further warranty obligation regarding Offline.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

OFFLINE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE."
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, XMACHINA LLC DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND AVAILABILITY.
WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT OFFLINE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR COMPLETELY ACCURATE.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, XMACHINA LLC, ITS MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AFFILIATES, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.
THIS INCLUDES LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OFFLINE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO OFFLINE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF:
(A) THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO XMACHINA LLC FOR OFFLINE DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM; OR
(B) FIFTY UNITED STATES DOLLARS (USD $50).

INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless XMACHINA LLC, its members, employees, contractors, affiliates, and service providers from any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses arising out of:
• Your use of Offline;
• Your content;
• Your violation of these Terms; or
• Your violation of any rights of another person.

TERMINATION

You may stop using Offline at any time.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to Offline, accounts, or tournaments if:
• You violate these Terms;
• We reasonably believe your conduct poses a risk to Offline or its users; or
• We discontinue part or all of the service.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination shall remain in effect after termination.

CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms from time to time.
If we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the revised Terms.
Your continued use of Offline after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of those revised Terms.

GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or Offline shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California, except where prohibited by applicable law.

What is Offline?

Offline is a digital wellbeing app for iPhone that helps you spend less time on distracting apps. It tracks how long you've stayed away from the apps you choose and displays that time as a live timer. The longer you stay offline, the higher your timer climbs.

How does Offline work?

You choose the apps you want distance from. Offline measures how long you stay away from those apps and displays it as a live timer.
When you open one of your selected apps, your timer resets and a new run begins. Over time, you build streaks, work toward daily goals, and develop a clearer picture of your relationship with your phone.
Does Offline block or restrict my apps?
No.
Offline does not block, hide, lock, or restrict access to any app. You remain in complete control of your device at all times.
Offline simply measures your time away and reflects it back to you in a way that's easy to understand and motivating to maintain.

Why does Offline need Screen Time permission?

Offline uses Apple's Family Controls and Screen Time frameworks to detect when one of your selected apps has been opened.
This allows the app to measure your offline time and update your timer accurately.
You choose whether to grant this permission, and you can revoke it at any time through iOS Settings.
Can Offline see which apps I selected?

Is there a widget?

Offline includes a home-screen widget that displays your live timer, allowing you to see your current offline run without opening the app.

Why is the timer sometimes delayed or slightly approximate?

Apple's Screen Time framework reports usage information in batches rather than instantly.
To preserve battery life and privacy, updates may occasionally appear a short time after an event occurs.
Offline is intentionally conservative and may briefly delay updates rather than display time that has not yet been confirmed by Apple's systems.

Does my streak sync across devices?

Yes.
Your streak history is stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple CloudKit.
This allows your progress to survive device changes and app reinstalls.
XMACHINA LLC cannot access or view your CloudKit data.

What devices does Offline support?

Offline is currently designed for iPhone running iOS.
The app relies on Apple's Family Controls, Screen Time, CloudKit, and widget technologies, which are only available within Apple's ecosystem.

Does Offline support widgets?

Yes.
Offline includes Lock Screen widgets and Live Activities so you can monitor your streak throughout the day.

Is Offline free?

Offline is free to download.

How do I delete my data?

You can:
• Revoke Screen Time permission through iOS Settings
• Remove monitored apps from within Offline
• Delete your account within the app, which removes your account and tournament data from our backend
• Delete the app, which removes locally stored data from your device
Data stored in your personal iCloud account may remain until removed through Apple's iCloud services.
